yOU Ask

Good morning ladies and gents of the X-Army, hope you are doing well in this Corona Virus (COVID19) era. Stay safe out there people and keep clean. Welcome back to Ask The Balding One, a segment where I scrape through the internet for questions to give my opinion on. Some questions are good, some are interesting, and the rest are kinda out there. No question will be untouched. Let’s dive into today’s question.

Question |

Is It Racist To Act Black?

Answer |

Yes, just like it’s racist to act in any other race. This is not something that is limited to black. Like most people who try to break into a genre of music who aren’t that genre’s predominant race so to speak, if they act in the form of what they think the people in that genre of music acts without being that way is considered racist. You are pretending to be something you aren’t. I find it strange that a majority of music these days have the “N” word or nigga in it and if a none black person says the lyrics there is outcry. Those people get cancelled by today’s social justice culture. Is it racist to act to different race? Yes. Is it okay to appreciate a different culture for what it is without degrading your own race or culture? Absolutely. I love K-pop, Blue Grace, Country, and Trap music but I don’t pretend to be the races in these genres. I am Jamaican-American and proud. I would find it offensive if someone steals my cultures music and profit off it without respecting it. If it’s done out of appreciation and understanding then I don’t care. Big differences. Hope this helps.
